Automatic Traffic Sign Detection
A traffic sign recognition system has two stages – 1. Detection and 2. Recognition. The traffic signs are regular with specific colours and shapes in order that they are recognisable to the driving public. Signs are white, black, red, green, blue and yellow. Colours are easy to locate within the images using various colour spaces. Signs are circular, rectangular or triangular. Shape based transforms are used to detect these. Detected signs are compared with the UK Sign Books to give Diagram Numbers.
